Private label aerosol manufacturing
Aerosol filling under your own brand. Formulated in our laboratory, filled at our plant in Tuzla, İstanbul, with the export paperwork prepared by us.
Order terms
These three figures hold for every line. They are what you need before asking for a quotation.
- Minimum order
- 2,000 units per product For labelled products. Where the can itself is printed it is between 5,000 and 24,000 units, because the printing plate is made once.
- Sample
- 1 week For a product from the existing range and for a new formulation alike.
- Lead time
- 4 to 6 weeks Counted from the approval of the formula and the label.
Why aerosol filling is a separate job
It is not the same work as putting a liquid into a bottle. In an aerosol the can, the valve and the propellant are as much a part of the product as the formula, and all three are chosen against one another.
Choosing the propellant
Butane, propane and dimethyl ether are flammable, carbon dioxide and nitrogen are not. The choice sets the flammability class, the warning on the label and the shipping rules. The same formula with a different propellant is a different product.
Valve and actuator
Spray pattern, droplet size and flow per minute all come from the valve. Foam, wet spray and dry spray each need their own valve and actuator combination. It is one of the first things to settle at the sample stage.
Pressure and leak testing
Every filled can passes through a hot water bath and is checked for leaks and pressure resistance. This step is not optional. Both safety and shelf life depend on it.
ADR class 2 shipping
Aerosols travel as pressure receptacles under UN 1950, within class 2. Carton marking, transport papers and load limits follow from that, and road and sea carry separate rules.
Five things to decide before a quotation
With these five in hand, the sample and the pricing are settled in one round. If you are unsure of any of them, we work through the options with you.
-
01
Can volume
Between 200 ml and 750 ml covers most products. The volume is worked out together with the fill ratio and the amount of propellant.
-
02
Propellant type
Flammable or not. Where the product is used indoors, this choice changes both the label warning and whether a market will accept it.
-
03
Valve and spray type
Foam, wet spray, dry spray or a targeted narrow nozzle. We need to know how the user actually applies the product.
-
04
Printing method
A label, or lithography printed onto the can itself. Labels are flexible at low volumes, lithography looks better at high ones.
-
05
Target market
The country the product is sold in sets the label language and the conformity documents. The European Union, Saudi Arabia, Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union each ask for a different set.
What we fill into aerosols
The parts of our four product groups that suit aerosol filling. All of it is made at the same plant under the same quality system.
- Technical maintenance sprays: rust remover, lubricant, contact cleaner, silicone spray
- Wheels and tyres: tyre shine, wheel cleaner
- Interior care: dashboard care, upholstery foam, air conditioning cleaner
- Fragrance range: car air freshener, room spray
- Exterior care: bug remover, screen wash additive, quick detailer
The paperwork that comes with an aerosol
The documentation below is provided as standard. Market-specific documents are prepared on request.
- Technical data sheet (TDS), issued separately for each product
- Safety data sheet (SDS), in the international format
- CLP and GHS label compliance, with the pictograms and warnings aerosols require
- ADR transport document, with UN 1950 and packing details
- Certificate of origin and customs paperwork
- Market conformity certification: UFI and PPWR for the EU, SABER for Saudi Arabia, EAC for Russia and Eurasia
Frequently asked questions
- What is private label aerosol manufacturing?
- It is having the formulation, aerosol filling, valve assembly, labelling and packaging of a product you will sell under your own brand carried out at a manufacturing partner's plant. You do not have to build a filling line, store propellant or hold a pressure vessel permit.
- Why is aerosol filling harder than liquid filling?
- In an aerosol the can, the valve and the propellant are part of the product. All three are chosen against one another, every filled can is checked in a hot water bath, and the product ships as a pressure receptacle. None of those three steps exists in liquid filling.
- Which propellant is used?
- Depending on where the product is used and which market it is sold in, either a flammable hydrocarbon blend or a non-flammable gas. Because the choice changes the flammability class, the label warnings and the shipping rules, it is settled together at the sample stage.
- Can aerosols be exported?
- Yes. Aerosols travel under UN 1950 within class 2 and the shipping papers are drawn up accordingly. The conformity documents the European Union, Saudi Arabia, Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union ask for are prepared by us.
- Can I bring my own formula?
- Yes. You can start from our existing range or bring your own formula. We assess in our laboratory whether it suits aerosol filling and, where needed, propose adjustments for propellant and valve compatibility.
- What is the minimum order quantity?
- 2,000 units per product for a labelled aerosol. Where the can is lithographed it runs between 5,000 and 24,000 units, because the printing plate is made once. That is why labelled runs are far more flexible at low volumes. The sample takes a week, and production takes 4 to 6 weeks from approval.
