Private label carpet cleaning chemical manufacturing
Carpet and upholstery products under your own brand. pH set by the fibre, foam set by the machine, the range set by the method.
Order terms
These three figures hold for every line. They are what you need before asking for a quotation.
- Minimum order
- 2,000 units per product For labelled products. Where the can itself is printed it is between 5,000 and 24,000 units, because the printing plate is made once.
- Sample
- 1 week For a product from the existing range and for a new formulation alike.
- Lead time
- 4 to 6 weeks Counted from the approval of the formula and the label.
Four constraints that set a carpet formula
A carpet holds on to whatever is poured on it. That is why the question in carpet chemistry is not how well a product cleans but what it leaves behind.
Fibre and pH
Wool works on the acidic side, synthetic fibre tolerates alkali. The wrong pH fades wool and stiffens the fibre. Which fibre the range is for is decided at the start.
Machine compatibility and foam
An extraction machine cannot lift foam and the recovery tank fills with it, so the product has to be low-foaming or carry a defoamer. A shampoo machine wants exactly the opposite.
Method
Plant immersion washing, on-site extraction and encapsulation are three separate methods and each asks for its own product. Using one product across all three drops the result.
Residue and resoiling
Surfactant left in the pile holds dust, and the carpet soils faster after cleaning than it did before. That is why a rinse and neutralisation step belongs in the range.
Five things to decide before a quotation
With these five in hand, the sample and the pricing are settled in one round.
-
01
Cleaning method
Carpet plant, on-site extraction or encapsulation. Foam level and concentration follow from this.
-
02
Fibre
Wool, synthetic or mixed. Wool needs its own pH range, and that makes it its own product.
-
03
Concentration
A professional buys a concentrate and dilutes it. A retail user wants it ready to use.
-
04
Pack and fragrance
Drum, barrel or retail bottle. In carpet chemistry the scent is one of the things that closes the sale.
-
05
Target market
The country the product is sold in sets the label language and the conformity documents.

Frequently asked questions
- What is private label carpet cleaning chemical manufacturing?
- It is having the formulation, filling, labelling and packaging of carpet and upholstery products you sell under your own brand carried out at a manufacturing partner's plant.
- Do you make products safe for wool carpets?
- Yes. For wool the pH is held on the acidic side, and that product is formulated separately from the one made for synthetic fibre. Your enquiry needs to say which fibre it is for.
- Can you make a product that does not foam in an extraction machine?
- Yes. Extraction uses a low-foaming formula, supported where needed by a separate defoamer. A shampoo machine needs the opposite, a foaming formula.
- Do you make for carpet plants or for on-site cleaning?
- For both. Immersion washing in a plant and extraction in a customer's home ask for different products, so we need to know which one it is from the start.
- Do you make concentrates?
- Yes. Professionals get a concentrate and retail users get a ready to use product. The dilution ratio is stated plainly on the label.
